Alexandra (alex)

Thank you so much for being here. I know that in being a parent, your time is limited and precious, so truly thank you for taking the time to get to know me.

My greatest passion is helping families to navigate both the messy and magical moments in parenthood. I support parents by providing education and tools on topics ranging from feeding, to sleep, to potty training, CPR and so much more. My hope is that with my support parents are able to feel empowered and confident in caring for their family.

I have been a nurse for over 10 years now and I specialize in Pediatrics, specifically infants and toddler. During this time as a nurse, I have worked in many different settings from surgery to being a Pediatric Intensive Care nurse at one of the top Children’s Hospitals in the nation.

I have no shame in sharing that one of my most challenging, but greatest achievements has been becoming a mother. I have two spunky, fun loving children. They challenge me to be better, are teaching me nonstop, and remind me to find joy in the little moments.

In July 2021, I started my journey with The Mama Coach and I can not be more thankful to have a place to share my passion. I am grateful to walk alongside families and provide them the support needed to feel empowered.

Through my experience as a mama and nurse, I saw and felt how our healthcare system is limited in its ability to support families. Providers have limited time in the clinic to address all our questions or concerns. Thus, this led to me joining The Mama Coach. I hope to help bridge the gaps in our healthcare system so that no family is left googling or wondering what to do or how to care for their child.

My goal is to provide families with zero judgement evidence based empathic empowered care.  Let me be a “one stop shop for all your parenting needs that’s not one size fits all.” It is important to me that every service I offer is individualized and customized to your family’s specific needs and goals.

In my practice as a registered nurse, I have the ability to approach each of my client’s concerns from the nursing perspective and process. This is done by performing a detailed assessment. I will work with you to look at the whole picture of your family. This will include feeding, growth, development, temperament, environment, parenting style, and so much more. Then we will collaborate to build a plan that is individualized for each of your unique family goals.

I hope that in our work together I am able to leave you informed and empowered by the skills and tools you have just added to your parenting tool belt. Thank you again, for being here and as always, YOU GOT THIS!

Frequently Asked Questions

Good question!  We are called The Mama Coach because years ago, when Carrie’s first boy was very small, she often wondered out loud to herself, “Where is my Mama Coach?” and “I need a Mama Coach!”.  Carrie searched and searched for qualified support and realized there was a need for qualified support for new families. We recognize that our name can give the impression that we only serve moms, but we will continue to work and learn to ensure our messaging is clear that all people are welcome here. Parents carry a heavy load, and do it with grace.  All parents deserve support, and The Mama Coach is the answer you’ve been searching for.

We do not just support moms — we help ALL people.  All are welcome here, and we are committed to providing you with quality support, no matter your gender or family dynamic.  As we learned in nursing school, your family is who YOU say they are.

We get asked this one all the time.  As Registered Nurses, having merely one method does not align with how we were trained in University to utilize the nursing process.

The Nursing Process is defined as, a “systematic approach to care using the fundamental principles of critical thinking, client-centered approaches to treatment, goal-oriented tasks, evidence-based practice (EDP) recommendations, and nursing intuition.  Holistic and scientific postulates are integrated to provide the basis for compassionate, quality-based care” (*1).

Simply put, we will assess your child using our nursing training to determine the best way to help your family reach their goals, walking beside you all the way.  You can choose us with confidence, knowing you have picked the most qualified resource to support your family’s journey.

Yes.  As Registered Nurses, we have years of training on where to access credible guidelines and information. All of our programming is based on extensive research from credible sources.

As Registered Nurses, it is our professional obligation to manage client records and confidential information properly.  We use an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) that is compliant throughout North America.  Even though we share the same brand, we are all independent Registered Nurses with our own private practices. As such, we each have our own EMR that is private and secure. We do not share EMR or client information between one another without consent.

Often they are — the answer largely depends on where you live and what your private insurance covers.  For example, in Canada, our services are covered under ‘Lactation’, ‘Registered Nurse Services’ or ‘Health Spending Accounts’.  In the United States our services can be covered as well, through HSA or FSAs.  Reach out to me for more information.
